We do not run these tests ourselves. Independent figures are quoted from the source named in each row.
The Roborock Q10 S5+ is the best budget robot vacuum we found at $329.99, because it is the only pick with strong independent cleaning data, a self-empty dock and LiDAR mapping together. If you want the cheapest dock-equipped pick with a 3-year warranty, the Dreame D20 Plus is $309.99. If you want a dock that washes and dries the mop, the Ecovacs Deebot N30 Pro Omni is $315.00 on a sale that its page said had 3 days left. The lubluelu SL68 Plus is $185.99, but almost everything about it is a brand claim.
These picks come from published specs, certification databases and named third-party measurements, not from a lab of our own. How we score explains the method. Every price below was read on Oct 23, 2026 and every pick was at or under $350 that day.
How we picked
We scored each robot on five weighted criteria: cleaning performance (30), navigation and obstacle avoidance (25), 3-year cost for bags and parts (20), dock and maintenance (15) and app (10). The validator recomputes every total from those weights.
The sources were the brand store pages for Roborock, Ecovacs, Dreame and lubluelu, the Ecovacs N30 Pro Omni US manual, and the Dreame and Roborock parts listings. For independent data we used Vacuum Wars, which published reviews of the Roborock Q10 S5+ and the Dreame D20 Plus, plus the CPSC SaferProducts.gov recall database and Trustpilot. We also read the 10 most recent owner reviews on the Ecovacs store page. The picks are researched from published data, not tested by us.
We left out eufy. Its cheapest robot with a dock, the Omni C20, was $379.99 on eufy’s US collection page, and the $279.99 RoboVac 11S MAX has no Wi-Fi, no app and bounce navigation according to its spec table.
The scores landed close together. The Roborock Q10 S5+ scored 7.1 of 10, the Dreame D20 Plus 6.9, the Ecovacs N30 Pro Omni 6.5 and the lubluelu SL68 Plus 6.1. The gap between first and second is mostly cleaning evidence: the Roborock has more measured results, and the Dreame has a lower bag bill and a longer warranty. The Ecovacs scores lower on evidence, not on features, because we found no independent cleaning figure for it and its bag interval is unpublished.
What to look for
- Price the bags, not just the robot. Over 3 years, bags alone came to $102.36 for the Roborock (one per 7 weeks, brand maximum) and $95.94 for the Dreame (one per 2 months, the short end of its 2 to 4 month advice).
- Know what mapping does and does not do. LiDAR gives room maps and no-go zones. Vacuum Wars lists weak or no obstacle avoidance for the Roborock and the Dreame, so pick up cords and socks before every run.
- Check the Wi-Fi band. The Ecovacs manual says 2.4 GHz or a mixed 2.4/5 GHz network only. The lubluelu manual says 2.4 GHz only.
- Decide whether you want to mop. Among these four only the Ecovacs dock washes and dries pads. The Roborock dock does not wash pads, and the Dreame mop is a basic detachable pad that must come off before carpet.
- Compare warranties. Dreame lists 3 years, Roborock a 1-year limited warranty, and lubluelu 24 months that applies only to lubluelu.com purchases.
- Look for independent data before you trust a suction number. Pascal ratings are brand claims. Measured results exist for the Roborock and the Dreame only, and no recall turned up for any of these brands on Oct 23, 2026.
FAQ
Is a robot vacuum under $350 good enough for pet hair?
Two of these have independent evidence that it can be. Vacuum Wars reports the Roborock Q10 S5+ picked up 96% of pet hair against an average of 75.4% for the robots it has tested, and the Dreame D20 Plus 93% of embedded sand on carpet against a 77.86% average. Those are the only measured cleaning figures here.
Which budget pick has the cheapest dock parts?
The Dreame 5L bag is $15.99 for 3 and the Roborock 6-pack is $25.59. The Ecovacs 3-pack of bags is $21.24 but the manual says only to replace the bag when the app prompts, so no 3-year bag cost can be computed.
Is the lubluelu SL68 Plus worth the lower price?
Only if you accept thin service. lubluelu.com showed 1.8 of 5 from 94 Trustpilot reviews on Oct 23, 2026, and no lab has measured its robots. See our SL68 Plus review and the lubluelu brand guide.
Will these prices hold?
Not necessarily. The Ecovacs page showed a countdown on its $315.00 price against a $699.99 list, and Dreame and Roborock also list sale prices. Check the store page before you buy.
Do I need a robot with a camera for obstacle avoidance?
Only if your floor is often cluttered. Nothing at or under $350 in our research had camera-based avoidance backed by an independent test. The Ecovacs manual describes a line laser module that scans for obstacles, but we found no measurement of how well it works, and an owner on its store page says it circled hair piles.
What do I do before the first run?
Pick up cords, socks and pet toys, then put the dock against a wall. The Ecovacs manual says to leave 0.05 m on each side and 0.8 m in front of its station, and the lubluelu manual asks for more than 0.5 m on each side and more than 1.5 m in front. Join the robot to a 2.4 GHz network during app setup.

What owners report
4.4 of 5 (Ecovacs N30 family reviews, seller page) from 120 ratings on Ecovacs US store page (seller's own reviews) read Oct 23, 2026
Ratings shown on a seller's own page can leave out reviews the seller removed. We read the most recent reviews ourselves and summarize what repeats.
- −Of the 10 most recent reviews on the Ecovacs store page, 2 were negative and 1 was mixed. One negative was about cleaning on laminate; the other was a repair refusal on an older Ecovacs robot. The mixed review said the mop was weaker than expected and the app confusing.
- +3 of those 10 reviews mention easy setup or fast mapping. A seller can remove reviews from its own page, so treat this as a lean, not a rate.
It would create lil piles of hair then drive around them because it though they were an obstacle.
Ecovacs store page, N30 Pro Omni reviewer, Sep 2026
I love how quickly this robot was able to map my entire house! I think my favorite feature is the removable washing plate in the dock.

The specs that matter, in plain English
- Pa (Pascal)
- The unit brands use for suction. Figures are claims and are not comparable across brands without a lab test.
- LiDAR
- A spinning laser distance sensor that maps rooms and supports no-go zones. It does not recognize objects like cables or socks.
- Self-empty dock
- A base that pulls dust from the robot bin into a sealed bag, so you change bags instead of emptying the bin each run.
- Obstacle avoidance
- A camera or structured-light system that steers around small objects. Budget LiDAR robots often lack it.
