Editorial Policy
The Practical Choice is an independent product research publication. These are the rules we work by.
- No paid placements. Brands cannot pay to be included, to be ranked higher, or to see an article before it is published.
- Commissions never change a score. They help decide which categories we cover. Inside a category, the score decides the order.
- We say how we know. Every article lists the sources it read, with the date, and links them at the bottom of the page. Independent measurements are always credited to whoever measured them.
- Numbers need a source. Prices carry the date we checked them. If we could not verify something, we say so instead of guessing.
- Tools, including AI. We use software tools, including AI, to research published data and to draft articles. Before an article goes live it is checked by an automated reviewer against the rules on this page: sources must resolve, prices must carry the page they came from, recalled products are rejected, and the ranking must match the scores. We correct errors on the corrections page when readers point them out.
- Health claims. We do not claim that a product treats or relieves a medical condition.
