The Skylight Calendar 2 ($299.99, plus an optional $79 a year for Plus) edges out the Apolosign 15.6 inch Digital Calendar ($279.00) on our score, 7.8 to 7.6, because its sync list is longer and plainer. Apolosign is still $20.99 cheaper over three years, and it lists no subscription plans at all. Apolosign is an affiliate partner of this site, and the score follows the evidence only. That evidence is thin: no independent lab has measured either calendar, so the gap comes from brand pages and fee math.
Skylight’s edge is sync: its list is longer and plainer, and it has the bigger track record. Apolosign shows iCloud by importing it as a shared calendar, which its own FAQ says. These picks come from published specs, certification databases and named third-party reports, not from our own lab. See how we score.
Which calendar costs less over three years?
The Apolosign costs $279.00 for three years and the Skylight costs $299.99, a gap of $20.99. Apolosign’s page lists $279.00 against a regular $349.00. Its FAQ says the calendar “does not currently have any subscription plans.” The Skylight Calendar 2 page lists $299.99 with the Plus plan selected. Skylight’s own pages list calendar sync, the chore chart, custom lists, color coding and the mobile app as free, so Plus is optional: it is $79 a year after a free first month, and it adds rewards, meal planning, the photo screensaver and Magic Import. Three years of Plus would be $237.00 and take the Skylight to $536.99, but that is not in the scored total. We did not subtract the free first month, and we left out electricity because neither brand publishes power draw.

Which has better calendar sync?
Skylight has the stronger sync claim. Its page lists Google, Apple, Outlook, Cozi, Yahoo and Readdle, plus any calendar with a public sharing link. Apolosign says it syncs “with Google Calendar, Outlook, iCloud, and other calendar apps,” but its FAQ says iCloud works by importing it as a shared calendar. A shared calendar is usually read-only, so check that edits from the display reach your phone before the return window ends. We found no independent sync test for either one.
What does each one do well?
Apolosign 15.6
- Chores with points and rewards, to-do and grocery lists, meal planning with recipe import, and a Google Photos screensaver are all listed as free on its page.
- The screen is slightly larger at 15.6 in, with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage, and Wi-Fi 6.
- Brightness is 300 nits, a brand claim, which is modest for a sunny kitchen.
Skylight Calendar 2
- The chore chart, task manager, custom lists and color coding are free. Rewards, meal planning, the photo screensaver and Magic Import need Plus.
- Tom’s Guide says the 15 inch Skylight ships with a metal stand and can also be wall-mounted. The brand adds a wall mount with a bubble level and says setup takes 10 minutes or less.
- The 4-month return window is four times longer than Apolosign’s 30 days. Apolosign charges return shipping unless the item is defective or the error is its own.
- Skylight says the device needs Wi-Fi at all times. Apolosign does not say on the page we read.
What should you check before you buy either one?
Run three checks in the first week. First, add an event on your phone and confirm it appears on the display. Then add one on the display and confirm it reaches your phone. Last, open the list of features you want and match each to the free tier. Apolosign’s 30-day window and Skylight’s 4-month window both cover this. Plug-in position matters too: Tom’s Guide notes that outlet placement is the part buyers forget, so look at where the cord will run before you drill.
Which one should you choose?
Choose the Apolosign if you want rewards, meal planning and photos with no yearly fee, and you mainly use Google or Outlook calendars. Skip it if you need written proof of two-way iCloud editing, since the brand describes iCloud as an import.
Choose the Skylight if your household uses Cozi, Yahoo or a public calendar link, or you want the longer return window and 3-year replacement promise. Skip it if you want rewards and meal planning without paying $79 every year.

FAQ
Does Skylight Calendar work without a subscription?
Yes, for the basics. The chore chart, lists, color coding and calendar sync are free. Rewards, meal planning and the photo screensaver need Plus, per Skylight’s compare page. Skylight’s pages do not say what happens to those features if you cancel Plus.
Does Apolosign have a subscription?
Its FAQ says it does not currently have any subscription plans. “Currently” means the brand can change that, so check the page before you buy.
Has either calendar been recalled?
We queried the CPSC SaferProducts database on Oct 23, 2026. Neither the Apolosign nor the Skylight Calendar has a recall. CPSC lists one Skylight recall from Nov 7, 2019, for power adapters sold with its photo frames.
Which is easier to return?
Skylight, with 4 months for purchases on myskylight.com. Apolosign gives 30 days with no restocking fee.

What owners report
4.9 of 5 from 980 ratings on Apolosign store page (seller-hosted reviews) read Oct 23, 2026
Ratings shown on a seller's own page can leave out reviews the seller removed. We read the most recent reviews ourselves and summarize what repeats.
- +All 3 customer reviews we could read in full on the page praise chores, rewards or organization.
- −The page shows only a handful of the 980 reviews and none mention a problem or iCloud, so complaints cannot be judged from it. A seller can remove reviews.
The reward system is so cool! My kids earn points for chores, which makes getting them to help so much easier.

The specs that matter, in plain English
- Plus plan
- Skylight's paid tier at $79 a year after a free first month. It unlocks rewards, meal planning and the photo screensaver.
- Two-way sync
- Edits made on the display flow back to your phone calendar, not only the other direction.
- Shared calendar import
- A way to show a calendar such as iCloud through a share link. It is often read-only.
- Nit
- A unit of screen brightness. Higher numbers are easier to read in a sunny room.
What changed
- Oct 11, 2026 First published.
- Oct 23, 2026 Prices and recalls re-checked.
- Oct 23, 2026 Skylight Plus is optional (sync, chores and lists work without it), so it is no longer in the 3-year total; cost score and winner updated.
